President of Bangladesh Zillur Rahman has accepted the letter of credentials of the new Bulgarian Ambassador to the country, Borislav Kostov.
Kostov, who is based in New Delhi, and is Bulgaria’s Ambassador to India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, met with Rahman on Monday.
Bangladeshi President Rahman has urged Bulgaria to import more Bangladeshi products and also recruit skilled and semi-skilled manpower from the country, reported the United News of Bangladesh.
He has also invited Bulgarian entrepreneurs to consider investments in the fields of RMG, textile, energy, petroleum, leather ceramic, pharmaceuticals and agro- processing in Bangladesh.
The President of the South Asian country also pointed out that Bangladeshis are grateful to Bulgaria for recognizing their country immediately after it declared independence in 1971, and congratulated Bulgaria on its successful EU integration efforts.
Ambassador Kostov has expressed a high opinion of Bangladesh’s achievement of 5%-6% annual GDP growth rate despite the raging global economic crisis, and its activeness in combating climate change. He has vowed to work to deepen the bilateral cooperation especially in commerce.
