Bulgaria's President, Georgi Parvanov, sent an official letter to his Russian counterpart, Dmitrii Medvedev, in connection with the terrorist attack on the Moscow metro.

Dozens of people were killed and scores injured early Monday in two separate attacks during morning rush hour.

Bulgaria firmly condemns this cruel and anti-humanitarian act, which cannot be explained by any political, religious, ethnic or other motives, the Presidential letter declares.

Parvanov further expresses deep personal condolences and those of all Bulgarians to the families and friends of the victims and the injured.
