The eleventh session of the Bulgaria-Bavaria Permanent Commission is taking place in Ingolstadt, Germany March 9-10.

The meeting of the Commission on expert level is the first after the 10th session which was convened in Sofia in June 2008.

Bulgaria’s Deputy Foreign Minister Marin Raykov and the Bavarian Minister of EU Affairs, Emilia Mueller are Co-Chairs of the Commission.

The Bulgaria-Bavaria Commission is the oldest of its type, the first joint commission that Bulgaria has for cooperation with any of the German lands.

The Commission has carried out a number of projects since 1994 focusing recently most of all on justice, home affairs, fighting organized crime, corruption, human trafficking, abuse of EU funds.

A total of 40 experts from Bulgaria and Bavaria are going discuss and adopt a new working program for cooperation of the Permanent Commission within the Danube region and the EU.
