Bulgaria launched Sunday the campaign under the motto “SOS - Save Education” where college students and citizens will give proposals for the secondary education reform.

Darik radio, the TV channel Nova Televizia, and the daily “Standard” are the media partners of the campaign. The campaign is a joint action with the Education Ministry.

The reason behind the imitative is Bulgaria’s young people discontent from the state of higher education. The campaign’s slogans include: “We Want to Study in Bulgaria!’, “We Do Not Want Corruption!”, and “We Want Real Knowledge, Not Just Diplomas!”

Another of the campaign’s goals is to explain and popularize the higher education reform, which will be done through traveling SOS tents. About 30 people will be divided in 4 mobile teams to move around the country on weekends and erect centrally located tents in 4 regional centers. The tents will offer brochures, video clips, while the faces of the campaign will explain in person the goals and the essence of the reform. A video camera will be placed in each tent so that every individual wishing to make a proposal can videotape it.

A Facebook group called “SOS – Save Education Now” was created at the end of December and currently has 10 000 members.
