About 100 workers at the Rubin glass plant in the northern Bulgarian city of Pleven are expected to be declared redundant within the next month.
Svilen Yankov, Director of the local Employment Bureau, told BGNES that a representative of the glass-works had spoken to a member of the Bureau and announced these intentions, but that he has not yet delivered a formal written notification.
According to Yankov, however, it is not mandatory that the employees to be made redundant total 100.
In the official document with which the enterprise will notify of coming redundancies, that number may be different.
Up to now there have been several companies that have initially announced a bigger number of dismissals, but have later made fewer workers redundant, Yankov explained.
It is expected that the Rubin workers will receive a month's advance notice in November concerning their dismissal in December.
