Bulgaria PM Boyko Borisov has stated that his government will attempt to fill the budget deficit by stopping contraband, collecting excise duty and cracking down on V.A.T theft.

Borisov, speaking in the Black Sea city of Varna, also said that the government will attempt to find EUR 300 M to help Kozloduy NPP before September.

Borisov added that the minimum amount needed to help the Kozloduy nuclear power plant was EUR 300 M. He suggested that up to EUR 800 M may be needed.

He continued that "a true anti-crisis program is not just on paper like the previous government thought, work must be given to businesses and people's jobs must be secured."

Meanwhile, Borisov concluded that he had not yet decided on the future of Meglena Kuneva as the Bulgarian EU commissioner.
