The Bulgarian Ministry of Defense has said that no Bulgarian soldiers or citizens have been killed or injured in two serious militant attacks in Afghanistan.

In an official statement the Ministry stated that no Bulgarians were killed or injured in a suicide car bomb attack at 7:10 am Bulgarian time that exploded outside the NATO headquarters in Kabul, killing at least seven people and wounding about 70.

The statement continued that no Bulgarian soldiers or equipment were damaged in a rocket attack on Kandahar airport late Friday.

At least 200 Bulgarian soldiers, who are taking part in the international security maintenance operation in Afghanistan are guarding the Kandahar Airport.

The Bulgarian Sixth Infantry Company arrived at Kandahar Airport in midweek.
