Bulgaria's Deputy PM and Finance Minister, Simeon Djankov, was placed in charge of the Administrative Reform Council of the Cabinet on Wednesday.
The decision was made by the government of PM Boyko Borisov during its weekly meeting.
The Administrative Reform Council is set up to replace the Ministry of State Administration and Administrative Reform that was headed by Nikolay Vasilev in 2005-2009.
Bulgaria's Labor Ministry Totyu Mladenov will be the Deputy Chair of the new council, which is also going to include one deputy minister from each of the following: Ministry of Finance, Regional Development, Justice, Economy, Environment, Agriculture, Transport, Foreign Affairs, Education, and Interior.
The role of the Administrative Reform Council will be to coordinate the governmental policies on the state administration.
Finance Minister Simeon Djankov was also appointed a National Coordinator on the implementation of the Lisbon Strategy, and will be in charge of the crafting of a national reform program.
Last week the government appointed Djankov the Chair of the Council for Tripartite Cooperation - a consultative organ including representatives of the government, the employers, and the trade unions.
