The head of the Bulgarian State National Security Agency DANS, Petko Sertov, who submitted his resignation Saturday, was not trusted by Bulgaria's foreign partners.

This was said Sunday by Dimo Gyaurov, an MP from the rightist Blue Coalition and a former head of Bulgaria's intelligence, as quoted by BGNES.

Gyaurov did not specify whether the "foreign partner" who did not trust Sertov was the USA, as the Co-Chair of the Blue Coalition, former PM Ivan KOstov, declared last week.

Sertov's resignation is yet to be approved by the new Bulgarian Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, and then to be sealed by President Georgi Parvanov.

The head of the Parliamentary Committee for Fighting Corruption, Yane Yanev, who is the leader of the conservative RZS ("Order, Law, Justice") party said he had no idea what Sertov's motives for his resignation were, but that he was going to summon Sertov to a Committee hearing in order to give explanation about the cooperation between DANS and the committee on the matter of fighting corruption up to date.

Yanev also said that his party had information about abuse of power by the former deputy head of DANS, Ivan Drashkov, who dismissed over suspicions of "trading with influence". In his words, Drashkov was connected with the DPS party and served the interests of its leader Ahmed Dogan and the three-way coalition all the time.

"In no way are our European partners going to allow the circle around Ivan Drashkov to govern DANS", Yanev said adding that he had informed the Prime Minister Borisov about the information that his party had.

Yanev has reiterated his party's unconditional six-month support for the Borisov government. Borisov's party GERB has 116 MPs, 5 short of a majority, whereas Yanev's RZS has 10 MPs.
