Journalist Zhivka Gicheva died in a car accident late Friday close to Bulgaria's Turgovishte, local police reported.
The accident happened close to Turgovishte at 10:45 Friday night, when a 31-year-old man lost control of his Mazda and crashed into a Renault. Gicheva was amongst the passengers and was rushed to Turgovishte hospital where she later died. Her 28-year-old daughter is in a serious condition in hospital.
Gicheva was a Bulgarian journalist, TV host and Producer. She produced Bulgarian National Television show "Why Not" and was the host of "Variant 3."
Gicheva previously worked as the Director of "Zdrave" TV and produced over 20 documentaries about Bulgarians abroad. She qualified as a TV journalist at Moscow University.
Seven other people have lost their lives in traffic accidents across Bulgaria over the last 24 hours as the war on the roads continues.
