Daniel Mitov Ready for Foreign Minister Role Amid Geopolitical Test in Bulgaria
Daniel Mitov, Deputy Chairman of GERB, has expressed his readiness to assume the position of Acting Foreign Minister
Bulgaria's new Finance Minister Simeon Djankov will be assisted in his work by only two deputies, young experts, it emerged on Thursday.
These are Vladislav Goranov (32), member of GERB economic team and former head of a unit at the finance ministry, and Ani Mihaylova (32), economist with the IMF Resident Representative Office in Bulgaria.
The names of the deputy ministers are no surprise as they had surfaced in the media over the last week.
Ana Mihyalova will be in charge of the country's foreign debt, international financial institutions, European funds and macroeconomic analyzes. She has been working as an economist at the IMF Resident Representative Office in Bulgaria since 2007. Mihaylova has also been part of the Budget Directorate with the Finance Ministry.
Vladislav Goranov will take over the sections dealing with budget and expenditures. He was elected member of parliament on the ticket of GERB party in teh recent general elections on July 5. He has experience in the management of public finances and headed a unit at State Expenditures directorate with the Finance Ministry. Prior to that he worked at the Agriculture ministry.
Minister Djankov will be in charge of the revenues in the budget, a responsibility that will be later taken over by a third deputy.
Experts and businessmen, not political figures, have reportedly been invited as deputy ministers in Bulgaria's new center-right government of GERB party, some of whom were presented on Thursday.
