The new Bulgarian government of the GERB party and PM Boyko Borisov, which was sworn in Monday noon, consists of 12 men and 4 women.

The four women among the new Ministers are the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rumiana Jeleva; the Minister of Justice, Margarita Popova; the Minister of Education, Yordanka Fandakova; and the Minister of Environment, Nona Karadzhova.

The outgoing government of Socialist PM Sergey Stanishev also included four women: Meglena Plugchieva (Deputy PM), Gergana Passy (EU Affairs), Emiliya Maslarova (Labor), and Emel Etem (Emergency Situations).
