The former Sofia Mayor and incoming Prime Minister of Bulgaria, Boyko Borisov, has brought three of his former deputies to the cabinet.

Former Deputy Mayor of Sofia in charge of transport and transport communications (2008-2009), Alexander Tsvetkov, is Bulgaria's new Minister of Transport in the GERB government.

Former Deputy Mayor of Sofia in charge of education and youth (2005-2009), Yordanka Fandakova, has become the new Minister of Education and Science of Bulgaria.

The new Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Tsvetan Tsvetanov, also used to be a Deputy Mayor of Sofia in charge of public safety in 2005-2006; Tsvetanov quit his post as Borisov's deputy when he became the formal Chair of the GERB party in December 2006.
