The Director of Bulgaria's National History Museum is expected to enter the country's next government as a minister without portfolio in charge of the Bulgarian citizens abroad.
Local media reports, saying that Bozhidar Dimitrov will enter the cabinet of GERB leader Boyko Borisov, surfaced a day after parliament decided that MPs who were collaborators of the so called State Security, the intelligence and secret police during the communist regime, will be banned from heading parliamentary commission.
"My childhood dream has always been to be a humble member of parliament, not a director," commented Dimitrov, who was expected to head the parliamentary culture commission.
Dimitrov, who was a long-time member of the Bulgarian Socialist Party, GERB's arch-rival, left the BSP about a month ago, and two days later was listed as a MP candidate from GERB from the "citizens' quota", i.e. as a non-member of GERB. He was elected member of parliament in the general elections vote on July 5.
