Bulgaria's Agriculture Minister nominee, Desislava Taneva, has withdrawn from participating in the future government of the GERB party.
In a letter to the future PM and GERB leader, Boyko Borisov, Taneva has refused to become the new Minister of Agriculture, the GERB press center announced.
"Since my nomination has been announced, there have been speculations about my work and career so far as the CEO of a joint-stock company, and the potential conflict of interests in these respect", Taneva's letter to Borisov reads.
She goes on to guarantee that she had resigned all previous positions, and could not be involved in a conflict of interests; yet, Taneva believes that her participation in the new government was going to lead to an endless series of bad publicity.
"Based on my view that the most important thing is the public trust with which a new government will start its work, I would no want to cast a shadow on the whole cabinet", the nominee says.
She stressed that she joined the GERB party because she believed in its potential to govern Bulgaria wisely, and as a result, she would like to step down from the Agriculture Minister nomination, and remain a Member of Parliament.
