Daniel Mitov Ready for Foreign Minister Role Amid Geopolitical Test in Bulgaria
Daniel Mitov, Deputy Chairman of GERB, has expressed his readiness to assume the position of Acting Foreign Minister
The Order, Law and Justice Party (RZS) is going to extend full support to GERB's minority Cabinet, the RZS leader, Yane Yanev, declared Wednesday.
Yanev spoke upon conclusion of the meeting between the parliamentary groups of RZS and the Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (GERB) party, stating the support would be firm and unconditional.
The memorandum of support proposed by GERB has been discussed during the meeting. Yanev explained the said memorandum didn't involve political cooperation within the frame of the Cabinet, but rather secured parliamentary support for the new government.
The dialogue regarding the memorandum includes only those parties that support the minority Cabinet, led by the informal GERB leader, Boyko Borisov, and there was no other option, according to Yanev.
"In theory there is a possibility that Mr. Borisov would invite people connected to political organizations with proven professional track record, but this is not on the agenda now," the GERB Chair and Chair of the GERB parliamentary group, Tsvetan Tsvetanov, replied to a reporter's question regarding RZS experts working with the new Cabinet.
Yanev on his part declared no one from RZS could be asked to work for the new government without the blessing of the party's Political Council, even as an expert, and if this was to happen the individual in question could be dismissed from RZS.
