All Bulgarian private pension funds showed positive results in the first six months of 2009.

Calculations, made by the Sega Daily, based on published funds share prices information, showed that they made not a large, but some profit.

The average profitability of the Bulgarian pension funds was between 0,6% and 3,9%.

In 2008, the funds for additional mandatory pension insurance decreased by 20%, and some even had losses between 25% and 29%.

For example, a young man had BGN 280 in the end of 2007, and in the end of 2008 he had only BGN 350, despite the fact that his employer deposited BGN 165 during the year.

The biggest company on the market, "Deverie" (Trust), recorded 2,42% profitability, while the second biggest fund, Allianz, had 0,57%. The small companies , "Badeshte" (Future) and "Pension Insurance Institute" reached impressive results - 3,92%, and 2,42%.
