The King of Pop, Michael Jackson, who died at the age of 50 Thursday night, was at one point a desired resident by the Bulgarian Black Sea resort of Nessebar.
In 2006, Nessebar's Town Council discussed the idea of inviting Jacko to come and live in the top Bulgarian resort. The idea was put forth by the then Chair of the Town Council of Nessebar, Dimitar Yankov.
The Municipal Administration was even ready to provide a plot or some other type of real estate property if he would agree to become its resident.
At the time, Yankov had also explained the Nessebar Municipality was considering making similar offers to other world famous pop singers and actors because this was what other top world resorts like the Canary Islands, the Spanish Riviera, and the Bahamas had done in order to maintain their popularity.
The idea of the Nessebar Municipality to make Jacko a resident of the Black Sea town, which is right next to the top resort Sunny Beach, died down shortly after its inception.
