The Bulgarian State Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (DKEVR) confirmed Thursday the 33,14% decrease in gas prices from July 1.

This is the greatest ever reduction of natural gas prices in Bulgaria compared to a previous quarter. It was proposed to the Commission by the Bulgarian state-owned gas monopoly Bulgargaz at the beginning of June.

Thus, Bulgaria's natural gas prices will be BGN 365,03 per 1 000 cubic meters without the VAT. Compared to the second quarter of 2009, the 33,14% decrease means a reduction of BGN 180,94 per 1 000 cubic meters without the VAT.

The proposed new gas prices include a fee for transit through the Bulgarian gas network of BGN 19,73 per 1 000 cubic meters.
