Berlusconi to Run For the European Parliament Elections
Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi will run in the European Parliament election in May, he announced Thursday.
The Italian newspaper "Republica" published information about an "overheard" cynical remark of Italian PM, Silvio Berlusconi, to his Bulgarian counterpart, Sergey Stanishev.
The Bulgarian information agency, BTA, reports Saturday that according to the "Republica" article, a camera of the TV channel Sky caught a conversation between Stanishev and Berlusconi during a break at the EU leaders' summit in Brussels Friday.
The two, allegedly, talk about Dorina (the actual name is Darina) Pavlova - "the mysterious Bulgarian woman, one the wealthiest Eastern Europeans, who is said to be in intimate relations with Berlusconi, according to publications in Bulgarian media." (Darina Pavlova is the widow of Ilia Pavlov, one of the wealthiest Bulgarians, murdered in the murky times after the fall of Communism.)
"The truth is, Berlusconi, allegedly, told Stanishev, Pavlova has a fantastic daughter. And you know my interest in minors."
"Republica" presents the conversation as a sensational intimate confession Berlusconi made to Stanishev at times when the Italian PM is suffering daily attacks in the media about his preferences towards "young girls from the show business and politics."
In the video, there is a group of five people and Berlusconi is the only one talking. All have sarcastic looks and tone, while at the end they all laugh wholeheartedly.
