The launch of the tenth, anniversary edition of the "BG Site" contest was announced in Sofia Thursday.
The contest is the most prestigious one, distributing awards in 12 categories to the best Bulgarian internet sites.
The contest's initiator, Justine Toms, announced the members of the jury and the categories. PriceWaterhouseCoopers are once again the moderator of the competition.
The sites will be judged by a 30-member expert panel.
The contestants are allowed to present their websites by adhering to the criteria listed on the contest's official page, www.bgsite.org. The categories are "Banking and Finance", "Online Store", "Cause, Event, Community", "Corporate Site", "Personal Blog Site", "Media", "Education and Science", "Online Information Services", "Travel and Tourism", "Public Administration and NGOs", "Social Networks and Dating Sites", "Internet Advertisement".
The registration deadline is September 30. The jury and the public will vote in October while the awards will be handed in November during the traditional web seminar.
The novelty this year is the special award for general contribution to be decided on by a separate expert panel.
"Microsoft Bulgaria", on their part, will also bestow a special award. They are once again among the contest's official sponsors.
As every year until now, there will be a special audience award with internet users voting online for their favorite site.
The winners will be announced at a special ceremony in November 2009 and will receive the contest's symbol - a statue made by Ivo Arnaudov
