Bulgaria: EVN Invests EUR 95 M in Wind Power Park in Northeast Bulgaria

The Austrian energy company EVN is going to invest EUR 95 M in the construction of a wind power park near the northeast Bulgarian town of Kavarna.

The project includes 25 turbines of 2 MW each, and is expected to produce about 140 GW/h of electricity per year.

The news has been announced by Kalina Trifonova, a CEO of EVN Naturkraft, which a subsidiary of EVN developing its renewable energy projects. The Kavarna project itself is 70% owned by EVN Naturkraft, and 30% owned by the German company Enertrag.

According to Trifonova, as cited by the Pari Daily, the project will be completed by the end of 2010.
