Second transport, carrying emergency relief supplies, left for Macedonia on Tuesday, the Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC) announced. The assistance is provided under a joint project of the BRC and the American Red Cross (ARC) for disaster preparedness and relief on the request of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). The supplies will be handed to the ICRC Regional Delegation in Skopje, which will distribute it with the help of the Macedonian Red Cross and the ARC delegation in Macedonia. The five trucks in the transport carry 2,500 family packages of food and sanitary supplies worth BGN 50,000. Over the next couple of weeks, another two transports of relief supplies will be sent to Macedonia, completing the original request for 10,000 family packages for victims of the conflict.
