An earthquake registering 4,2 on the Richter Scale was felt in the Blagoevgrad region of Bulgaria at 11:03 Monday morning.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 4,2 on the Richter scale struck on Monday morning.

The quakes epicenter was about 160 km southwest of the Bulgarian capital Sofia, outside the country's border, the Geophysical Institute of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences reported. The quake was felt strongly in the Blagoevgrad region.

There were no immediate reports of material damage or injuries.

A total of close to 300 earthquakes with an epicenter near the Bulgarian-Macedonian-Greek borders were registered last week.
