KNSB have accused fellow trade union Podkrepa of putting pressure on the creditors of Bulgaria steel mill Kremikovtzi.
The Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria (KNSB) have accused the Podkrepa Labor Confederation of exerting pressure on Tsvetan Bankov, the Chairman of the creditors of Kremikovtzi, to pay off a company responsible for the feeding of the workers at the steel mill.
Bankov and the Chairman of Podkrepa, Dr. Konstantin Trenchev, both denied the accusations and reported that the factory has not paid any payments to the company since October.
Bankov even categorically denied being called by Trenchev regarding debts to the sole trader that haven't been paid off, Darik Radio reported Saturday.
Bankov stated; "Ever since I have been here - 1 October 2008, we have not been able to afford and we haven't transferred any money to this company."
KNSB has asked the Bulgarian State Agency for National Security (DANS) to investigate Kremikovtzi's contract with "Vorskla Steel", a company that is a collective member of Podkrepa.
The trade union representative, Vasil Yanachkov, also suspects that Podkrepa have been exerting pressure on the the steel mill creditors to pay off BGN 100 000 to the "VVIN- Nikolay Dragomirov" company.
