The health insurance contribution remains 8%.
Health insured Bulgarians traveling to Macedonia can now use free emergency medical services after showing the European health insurance card (EHIC).
This was announced Saturday by Bulgaria's Health Ministry press office.
The service became possible after Bulgaria's National Health Insurance Fund (NZOK) and the Macedonian Health Insurance Fund (FZOM) signed an agreement on April 29, 2009.
Bulgarians who were not able to have their EHIC issued before traveling to Macedonia will have to get a declaration from regional offices of NZOK. Those declarations will be valid for up to two months stay in Macedonia.
