Bulgarian Energy Holding (BEH) is quitting the Burgas-Alexandroupolis natural gas pipeline project.

The Bulgarian government, which owns 100% of BEH, decided to sell its 50% share in the project to the first class international contractor Technoexportstroy Ltd.

The government will also cover the BGN 2,9 M expenses BEH have made so far.

The holding points the negative effects of the global financial crisis as the reason for its withdrawal.

The conservative policy determined by the crisis makes BEH to concentrate on more important projects, such as Belene Nuclear Power Planet.

"Were are not planing to look for another investor", member of Technoexportstroy governing council, Stefan Gunchev, said for Dnevnik Daily.
