Only 30% of Bulgaria's four and five stars hotels offer SPA, wellness, and balneology services that can meet the common requirements.

This was announced Monday by the SPA expert and Economy PhD, Yordan Yordanov, at a round table organized during the specialized exhibition Arena Professional.

According to the twenty-two experts who attended the discussion, there is a strong need of establishing standards in SPA and wellness services in Bulgaria.

In their words, the improper qualification of the employees in that business is the second biggest issue.

"Currently, there are only three only three universities that offer kinesitherapy courses, and 6 other colleges who prepare rehabilitation specialists. There are plans for starting major degree programs, because there are no such in Bulgaria", Chair of the Bulgarian Kinesitherapy Association, Elena Kovacheva, explained.
