Bulgarian PM Backs Mass Railroad Layoffs
Bulgaria's Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, voiced firm support for the looming mass layoffs at the State-owned railroad company BDZ.
The world-known Bulgarian surgeon, Dimitar Shoilev, died at the age of 73 in Sofia on Thursday.
Dimitar Shoilev was the founder of sports orthopaedics and traumatology. He was the first to introduce arthroscopic treatment in Southeast Europe.
Dr. Shoilev has also represented Bulgaria in the International Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology, and has been a member of the medical academies of France, Italy, Russia, Greece, and Cuba.
He was the Chair of the Association of Bulgarian orthopaedic surgeons and traumatologists, and has received numerous international awards for his contribution to the development of the field, especially with regard to knee surgery and arthroscopic treatment.
