Over 10 companies, some of which are based offshore, have drained money from the troubled Bulgarian steel mill "Kremikovtzi".
The statement was made Friday by the Sofia Deputy City Prosecutor, Bozhidar Dzhambazov, during the trail session against the former President of the CSKA Football Club and former "Kremikovtzi" Director, Alexander Tomov.
Tomov is indicted for document fraud and embezzlement of over EUR 5 M from CSKA and BGN 29 M from the mill.
The trial was later postponed to May 27 when the first witnesses, including well-known Bulgarian businessman, Vasil Bozhkov, are scheduled to appear before the magistrates.
If proven guilty, Tomov and the other three defendants face between 10 and 20 years behind bars.
On his part, Tomov made statements claiming the State was trying to take ownership of "Kremikovtzi" and Economy Minister, Petar Dimitrov, has pressured the Prosecutor's Office into beginning the trail before the Parliamentary elections.
Tomov declared that he had not embezzled even one BGN and had achieved the stabilization of the mill and the good financial state of CSKA.
According to Tomov, the State Agency for National Security, (DANS), exceeds its authority, something that even President Parvanov confirmed Thursday.
Tomov further said he had received warnings and threats, but declined to name anyone.
"Until now I have counted 760 media lies about myself," Tomov said in conclusion.
