The most popular politician in Bulgaria just until recently, Sofia mayor Boyko Borisov is seeing his image crumbling down in the wake of a heavy garbage crisis, a poll shows.

The administration of the mayor received the lowest possible marks by the citizens of the capital, who were asked to assess their performance in a survey done by Market Links polling agency and financed under the MATRA program of the government of the Netherlands.

The survey covered eight municipalities and aimed to probe the opinion of the citizens regarding the services they get.

The administration of the municipality of Veliko Tarnovo scored highest in the poll.
