The widely advertised participation of Bulgaria's Social Minister, Emilya Maslarova, in the VIP Brother 3 show has been canceled.
The producers of the reality show announced the news just hours before Maslarova's scheduled appearance in the VIP Brother house. The Minister was supposed to cook dinner for the celebrity participants and it was even decided that the menu would include a meat and potatoes meal. The show producers declined to offer further information about Maslarova's change of heart, but the Labor Ministry's press center issued an official declaration.
In the letter, which was sent to the TV channel Nova Televizia (New Television), Maslarova says she decided to not get entangled in the intrigue and the passions of the VIP Brother 3 participants. The Minister admits she proposed the show producers to replace her with a young Bulgarian woman, who for years now, has been taking care of a child in need. The producers declined the offer, saying it would not be interesting enough for the VIP Brother audience.
"You don't have any need of a dinner prepared by the Social Minister, but you need Adelina's example. It is my pleasure to offer my spot to this wonderful girl, who became a model for a selfless and compassionate attitude toward disadvantaged people, " the letter reads.
Maslarova further expresses hope that the charitable idea of the show would not become an empty notion due to the embedded need of scandals and catastrophes in order to trigger higher ratings. The show needs to be more discrete, the Minister further advises, adding her Ministry would continue to support the charitable intentions of the VIP Brother 3 team.
