The Bulgarian MEP, Bilyana Raeva, will present the Belogradchik Rocks at an EP exhibit dedicated to Bulgaria's cultural and historic heritage.
The exhibit will be on display at the European parliament (EP) from March 31 to April 2. Raeva has invited the Mayor of Belogradchik, Emil Tsankov, to take part in the exhibit's presentation.
Raeva, who visited Belogradchik Saturday, voted in the information center at the Belogradchik Town Hall for the nomination of the Belogradchik Rocks as one of the new natural Wonders of the World.
Raeva said that a huge poster with the picture of the Rocks is going to be displayed at the EP building, so that all Members of the EP (MEPs) would see it as they arrive to work.
The Belogradchik Mayor pointed out that now, after the first Bulgarian MEP voiced her support for the nomination, he was counting on serious support from many other MEPs.
The activity in support of the Bulgarian nomination has risen from 14% to 16% lately. The one for the Devil City in Serbia is at 1,9% and 10% for the US Grand Canyon. Tsankov believes that the Belogradchik Rocks have a strong chance to take the lead once again.
The voting will continue until July 7, when the participating 260 sites would be reduced to 77. 21 of them will go to the finals and an expert committee will select the top 7.
