A large fire consumed the Red Hall at the center of the market of Ilientsi in the Bulgarian capital Sofia. A quick response team of firemen are still working at the site and the situation is said to be under control, BGNES reported Thursday.
The fire started at around 8:30 am and it is reported that the fire began in a pile of boxes containing stock. Arson has not been ruled out as a cause of the initial fire at the market that is famous for its cheap Chinese goods.
13 fire engines and 1 ambulance rushed to the site of the fire and by 9:30 the fire was under control. There were no reports of any casualties and the fire was nearly completely out by 11:30 am.
