A freight train from Bulgaria, carrying scrap through Serbia for Macedonia has been halted at the Dimitrovgrad's customs, and returned back to Sofia, the Darik radio correspondent in Belgrade informs Monday.

The train composed of 14 cars, and carrying scrap from the Bulgarian "Rovotel Steel" Company for the "Makstil" company in Skopje has been checked-up by the Serbian Customs' agents.

During the inspection, they found that one of the cars had over 54 tons of scrap with radioactivity 11 times above the norm, according to Serbian media.

The Head of the Dimitrovgrad's Customs, Emil Petrov, has stated that the car has been immediately isolated and local residents are not in any danger.

This is the second time in the last few months, when high radioactivity in scrap traveling from Bulgaria to Macedonia has been discovered, the Belgrade daily "Blitz" reminds.
