The Bulgarian football star Dimitar Berbatov will spend several hours in Sofia Monday, the Bulgarian information agencies report.

The Manchester United player came back home to award several talented young people, selected by the "Dimitar Berbatov" Foundation.

The awards ceremony is held Monday evening at 7 pm in the Military Club in downtown Sofia.

Berbatov is scheduled to return the UK immediately after the ceremony due to an important game to take place Tuesday in the Carling Cup semi-final against Derby County.

Berbatov has received a special permission by the manager of the team, Sir Alex Ferguson to take leave for several hours in order to attend the event.

The Foundation of the Manchester United star was established several months ago with the goal of helping children and young people realize their potential.
