Protesting Greek Farmers Block Border Check Point with Bulgaria

Society | December 22, 2008, Monday // 00:00

Greek authorities have reported that protesting farmers blocked Monday the E79 international road near the Promahon border check point with Bulgaria.

Currently no vehicles are passing the border through the checkpoint, as protesters said only trucks transporting live stock and vehicles carrying people in need of medical help will be let through.

It is unknown when the protest of the Greek farmers will end and Bulgarian police advice travelers to use the Ilinden border checkpoint between the countries.
